SPWLA UPNVY SC is here to empower student self-development organization as a dynamic and collaborative community for development of future leaders in the field of well logging, petrophysics, and geosciences based on scientific synergy and professionalism. This organization was founded on January 15th, 2024 under the auspices of the SPWLA Indonesia Chapter, SPWLA Asia Pacific, and SPWLA International in the Special Region of Yogyakarta from Geophysical Engineering Departement Study Program.

Through SPWLA UPNVY SC, students can share and obtain the latest knowledge in the field of petrophysics and well log analysis. This can involve discussions, presentations, and other activities that facilitate the exchange of information between students and develop careers in the fields of petrophysics and oil and gas.

Vision

Empowering SPWLA UPNVY SC as a student self-development organization as a dynamic and collaborative community for development of future leaders in the field of well logging, petrophysics, and geosciences based on scientific synergy and professionalism

Missions

  • Offer hands-on workshops, simulation exercises, and industry-focused training to equip members with practical skills essential for success in the petrophysics field.

  • Provides leadership and self-development training to help students become effective leaders in the future in the global oil and gas industry.

  • Foster a global outlook by promoting collaboration with students, professionals, and institutions worldwide to create platforms for international knowledge exchange.

PETROVIA

Petrophysics is a study conducted to obtain the physical properties of natural reservoir rocks. Some properties of reservoir rocks are porosity, permeability, wettability, capillary pressure, saturation and resistivity of the rock.

Well logging, also known as borehole logging is the practice of making a detailed record (a well log) of the geologic formations penetrated by a borehole.

The types of well logging implementations, as well as their functions in the field.
